MINNEAPOLIS, MN, January 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) U.S. News recently released its comprehensive "Best Law Firms" rankings for the 2011-2012 year. The new rankings are based on an unprecedented review process, incorporating some 3.9 million evaluations of individual law firms collected from clients, other lawyers and leaders in particular practice areas.
Clients were asked to rate firms based on six criteria: expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, civility, cost-effectiveness and whether they would refer another client to the firm in the future -- peer review from other attorneys also included ratings on expertise, responsiveness, cost-effectiveness and whether they would refer clients to a particular firm. Peers were additionally asked to evaluate a given firm's integrity and whether they consider the firm to be a worthy competitor.
Based on the information collected regarding 9,633 firms nationwide, a tiered rating structure was compiled that sorts law firms by practice area and geography. First tier designation was given to those law firms that scored highest on the evaluations.
In the Minnesota Family Law division, Minneapolis law firm Kathleen M. Newman + Associates, P.A., was ranked in the first tier by U.S. News for best law firms. Only a handful of other firms received this prestigious designation.
Kathleen M. Newman, the firm's founding member, has two and a half decades of legal experience. Ms. Newman has received numerous honors over the course of her career as a trial attorney focusing on Family Law. Kathleen M. Newman + Associates, P.A., handles complex divorce matters, including cases with business valuation or tax issues, spousal support, Antenuptial agreements, mediation, Collaborative Law and all general family law client needs.
