The novel is an easy read. It reflects the joy de vivre of life. College and university students have found themselves epitomized in Jason. Piyush Patel, 23, a student of IIT, said he was happy to find a friend in Jason. He, like Jason, cherished his carefree life. Love taught him to live for others.
The novel is based on the universal theme of love. The author narrates the story from Jason's point of view. Jason is a typical happy-go-lucky youngster who enjoys his independence. Life for him is a party. He and his friends have fun and live for themselves. However the author lends an interesting twist to the story with the entry of a girl in Jason's life. Jason is hit by Cupid's arrow and falls head over heels in love with her. True love is a strong emotion that culminates into a life-long relationship when the responsibilities associated with it are properly undertaken. The carefree Jason is jolted out of his private world of pleasures after he enters into a relationship with the girl. The author shows the metamorphoses of Jason from a fun-loving selfish youth into a true lover. This journey for him is not a bed of roses. His shallow friends desert him when they are most required. The things that used to give him pleasure lost their charm. Strong and strange emotions surges through him which he had never experienced before. Sometimes the miseries of his life almost overwhelm him. Finally, through trial and error, he finds the path to happiness.
The novel deals with a medley of emotions that are universally experienced and acknowledged.
