INDIANAPOLIS, IN, January 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) Local aspiring male and female vocalists who missed the opportunity to dazzle the American Idol judges with their talent will have a chance to compete for a shot at fame. For the sixth consecutive year, Jam Sports, in conjunction with Billboard Magazine will host the Soul Search singing competition on Saturday, January 28 to kick off the week of activities during Super Bowl XVLI in Indianapolis, IN. Exclusive to Indiana state residents ages 5 to 50, Soul Search will showcase the best and brightest unsigned amateur vocal talent who will perform before a celebrity panel of judges including Indianapolis Colts Safety Antoine Bethea, WNBA MVP Indiana Fever Tamika Catchings, radio personality Tony Lamont, and Jam Sports CEO Juli Jordan.
One grand-prize winner will be named the "Soul Survivor" and perform the National Anthem before a star-studded crowd during the Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XIV on Saturday, February 4, 2012. The winner will also receive a prize package worth more than $1,000 in cash, merchandise, including a video recording and professional photographs of their live performance. Gridiron Celebrity Hoops is the first and only celebrity charity basketball game to become officially sanctioned by the National Football League. The Soul Survivor will sing before a star-studded roster, including six-time Pro Bowl NFL player Terrell "T.O." Owens, 2011 WNBA MVP Tamika Catchings, Multi-Platinum recording artist/actor Chris Brown and Grammy nominated rapper, J. Cole. More than three dozen professional athletes and celebrities will take center court to raise money to benefit Juli's Kids Motivated to Succeed and the Indiana Department of Child Services.
