FREDERICK, MD, February 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) Holistic Health's very own massage therapist, Amy Davis, L.M.T., and acupuncturist, Todd McCloskey, L.Ac., participated in a panel discussion on Alternative Medicine at Buckingham's Choice, a continuing care retirement community in Adamstown, MD.
For over six years Holistic Health Associates has been providing acupuncture and massage therapy at Buckingham's Choice. The panel included Dr. Mimi McLaughlin Galanis (Chiropractor) and Dr. Steve Sinclair (Naturopathic Physician).
Each participant gave a brief overview of how they treat and what to expect from their treatment, after which the audience asked specific questions. For the next hour the panel had a wonderful dialogue while answering questions and dismissing common misconceptions. Each person brought to the conversation their specific style, but what quickly became apparent was an overall common view of health and wellness.
In short, we all spoke about the search to find the underlying reason for an ailment or symptom as opposed to the typical approach of suppressing a symptom, often with medication. By looking into one's diet, exercises, and/or emotional life we can often find ways to improve our symptoms and even address deeper illnesses, while utilizing acupuncture, herbs, massage therapy and chiropractics as a way of reestablishing our body's balance and natural state of harmony.
About Holistic Health Associates: HHA is a health and wellness center based in Frederick, MD, offering complementary, alternative medicines and therapies (massage therapy, acupuncture, detox, meditation).
