SCORE St. Louis to Offer Social Media Workshop for Small Businesses

Online marketing firm TrafficPRM will lead discussion on strategies and best practices for social media success

ST. LOUIS, MO, February 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) The St. Louis, Missouri chapter of SCORE, in collaboration with online marketing firm TrafficPRM, is offering a social media workshop for small businesses called "Managing Your Business' Social Media Presence." The event will be held on Saturday, Februrary 25 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Charles Economic Development Center, located at 5988 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Charles (63376).

The workshop will go beyond the basics of social media to cover the strategies and best practices that small businesses can harness to turn social media into a business-building tool.

Topics covered during the workshop will include:

The current social media landscape
How to navigate the primary social networks, including Facebook and Twitter
Why good content is critical to social media success
The importance of blogging
Discussion of review and location sites such as Yelp and Foursquare
Developing goals and an action plan

"Our SCORE social media workshop will give small business owners a practical and manageable approach to social media marketing," said Brian Posnanski, principal of TrafficPRM. "We will cover the social media channels that are most important to small businesses and ways they can build a following. The workshop also will give attendees a customized action plan they can use right away."

SCORE is part of a national non-profit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation's small business.
