LEED Green Associate Architect to Form Alliance with Craftsman Construction a Green Home Custom Builder
Design Freedom Inc. a Virginia and Florida registered Architectural Firm, and LEED Certified Green Associate, partners with Northern Virginia custom home builder, to offer design services in green building design and aging in place design.

Craftsman Construction is proud to announce a strategic alliance with Cathy Svercl, RA of Design Freedom Inc. Design Freedom Inc. is a full service residential architecture firm promoting sustainable designs including accessibility, safety and green building practices. Cathy is a registered architect in Virginia and Florida. Cathy first started drawing houses in the 6th grade and has never turned back. She attended Virginia Tech, graduating with the professional degree of Bachelor of Architecture. After several internships with architectural firms in South Carolina and Maryland, Cathy started her own company in 2003.Cathy first came to our attention while we were building a rather large estate in Potomac Maryland said Jerry Jackness, President of Craftsman Construction. At that time she was interning for the project architect. Part of her job was to come to the site and check up on the project ."She was very inquisitive and wanted to learn the building process, said Mr. Jackness." We have kept in touch since that project and when Cathy started her own company, I was excited for her.
Cathy will help support us in our design department and with our green energy initiative. Also Cathy's certification as a Home Accessibility Assessment Provider will help our aging in place program.
