ROCKVILLE, MD, March 14, 2012 (Press-News.org) The vision and leadership of Clark Kendall, CFA, AEP, CFP , President of Kendall Capital, http://www.kendallcapital.com, were recognized last week by the Olney Boys and Girls Club. OBGC presented Kendall with its top honor, the Dan Dionisio Leadership Award, at its recent Ball of Fame.
Kendall was selected by a committee of OBGC volunteers for his leadership in guiding the club's capital campaign to restore Falling Green, the 18th-century house located at its 118-acre community park and sports fields on the west side of Olney.
"Clark's leadership as chair of the Falling Green campaign has helped OBGC to raise $1 million toward our $1.6-million goal," says Elisabeth Deal, OBGC Executive Director. "OBGC is grateful for his commitment to restoring this local treasure. Falling Green will provide OBGC with an on-site office and enable the club to operate its extracurricular sports more efficiently for thousands of community children."
In addition to his fundraising efforts, Kendall has served as one of OBGC's 800+ volunteer coaches and his four children have participated in a variety of the club's activities. From soccer to cheerleading and basketball to wrestling, OBGC has offered extracurricular sports and summer camps to more than 45,000 youngsters since 1969.
"OBGC is the fabric that binds the Olney community together," says Kendall. "In the sports programs, kids learn how to play together and parents learn how to work together. I'm honored to be recognized by the OBGC community, and I also receive great pleasure from knowing I'm one thread in the close knit OBGC community."
