The 11 track record, Paint the Town, will hit the streets on April 17, 2012 and will include the hit single "Whatta Night," a tune that achieved gold record status as a digital download in Canada and has topped the crossover and pop charts nationwide. It was also featured on the popular television show So You Think You Can Dance Canada.
As a teen, Ricky J built his reputation in the clubs of Montreal and after six long years found himself at the #2 spot on the Canadian Hot 100 Billboard chart and #2 on Nielson SoundScan' s Canadian Singles Chart with his hit "No Means No."
His video and song for "Whatta Night" has a combined a number of more than one million YouTube views. The bilingual artist also received the SOCAN award for Best Anglophone Song for "Whatta Night." Two new music videos will be released to coincide with the Paint the Town album release.
Ricky J co-wrote Karl Wolf's single "Mash it Up," which recently achieved gold status for both French and English versions.
