InterSports launches official website for former NHL star Jeremy Roenick

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 25, 2010 (Press-News.org) The recently re-designed InterSports Network (http://www.InterSportsNetwork.com) is excited to announce the launch of the official website for 20-year NHL star Jeremy Roenick (http://www.OfficialJeremyRoenick.com), who retired last year after playing for the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. Roenick joins a group of past and current NHL players who share the common vision of becoming closer to their fans through the new interactive InterSports experience.

"To have an elite player - and more importantly - an elite person like Jeremy Roenick join the InterSports Network is an incredible honor," InterSports President Peter Ferraro said. "His accomplishments speak for themselves, and we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him. We look forward to his future induction into the Hockey Hall or Fame."

Roenick was recently named to the 2010 Class of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame and last week was inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame for his time with the Blackhawks, who he played with for eight seasons from 1988-96. He will be enter the US Hockey Hall of Fame in October and has his sights set on eventually making the Hockey Hall of Fame.

"That was unbelievable," Roenick said about being honored as one of Chicago's all-time great athletes. "A tremendous honor - no question. It was a very humbling experience. To be associated with great people and always be remembered for that is what it's all about.

"Hopefully, I can complete the hat trick."

Roenick's goal with his new website is to give back even more to the fans than he already has, but in an online environment, extending his contact with them by allowing them to ask him questions, keep in touch and learn more about the charitable efforts he is involved with. He is also now on Twitter as http://www.twitter.com/Jeremy_Roenick and looks forward to interacting more with his fans.

"It's a good venue in my opinion," Roenick said. "Just because I'm not playing anymore doesn't mean I'm out of mind."

Roenick plans on taking a leadership role with InterSports and helping childhood friends Peter and Chris Ferraro teach other young hockey players how to market themselves through their network. Chris is the VP of InterSports and has worked with Peter to recruit only those players who are willing to make the extra effort and take an active role in communicating with fans.

"We are proud to have Jeremy Roenick as a client," Chris Ferraro said. "As a lifelong friend, Jeremy has always been a world-class athlete and a world-class person to his fans. His on ice presence displayed grit, passion and the love for the game of hockey."

"Peter and Chris have been my buddies since we were little kids," Roenick said. "We've always been very good friends. (Working with InterSports) was a perfect fit, a match made in heaven.

"A lot of kids don't do it now and need to brand themselves, starting with a website. I'll help them with a lot of those aspects."

InterSports CEO Lin Milano has worked very hard to build her network of NHL players and believes Roenick's personality adds another dimension to help fuel her company's growth.

"I'm happy to have an athlete like Jeremy Roenick on our network," Milano said. "He is electric - I have yet to find his off button."
