EDMONTON, AB, March 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) A glimpse at warmer temperatures has most home-owners chomping at the bit to get to work on spring cleaning, organization, and renovations. For many, their first stop will be this year's Edmonton Home and Garden Show. And for Linda Bodo, well-known eco-designer and home and garden decor expert, it's the perfect time for people to start integrating environmentally sustainable activities into their homes.
The author of 2 environmentally conscious books will be using her time on the main stage to talk about a new approach to eco-living she calls "INdisposables." The approach embraces the concept of 'repurposing' by encouraging consumers to stop before they chuck out items in their homes, to see if they might serve a second life, of sorts. Bodo explains:
"It's incredible how much we throw away. In these tough economic times it not only makes environmental sense, but financial sense as well. I'm excited to have this opportunity to teach people how to start implementing this approach into their everyday lives."
Bodo is especially happy to be a part of a major event in her hometown, "I'm really excited to be a part of this show. It shows real initiative on the part of the show to embrace ecologically sensitive approaches to home design. It sends the right message that it's a completely viable alternative to go the sustainable route and integrate eco-friendly living into every part of their life."
The 45th Edmonton Home and Garden Show takes place March 22-25 at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Linda's show times are as follows:
Thursday March 22- 6pm
Friday March 23- 4pm
Saturday March 24- 1pm & 5pm
