Founded by Harold and Dorothy Baker, Baker's Gas and Welding Supplies Inc. has operated as a retailer of welding equipment and supplies since 1936. The management was entrusted to Pete (Dale) Klemz and Lyle Hill upon Harold's death in 1961. Eventually becoming president of the company, Klemz implemented the company's cylinder-filling facility and introduced the bulk station program at customers' sites. Upon Dorothy's death in 1991, ownership was passed to Gary and Tom Klemz, who are dedicated to continuing the great entrepreneurial spirit of Harold and Dorothy Baker, Pete Klemz and Lyle Hill.
