PHILADELPHIA, PA, March 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Philadelphia personal injury lawyer Royce W. Smith of Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig LLP will serve as a faculty member at The Dispute Resolution Institute's 14th Annual Personal Injury Potpourri continuing legal education (CLE) program on April 17, 2012. The personal injury seminar, which offers substantive and tactical advice for all levels of plaintiffs' and defense personal injury attorneys, will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Smith's presentation will address preservation and spoliation of evidence.
"As technology becomes increasingly sophisticated, preservation and spoliation of evidence become increasingly challenging issues to tackle during litigation," said Smith, who represents seriously injured individuals in a wide range of complex civil matters. "I look forward to sharing my experiences in these areas with my colleagues during the Dispute Resolution Institute's personal injury seminar next month."
During his career, Smith has served as lead or co-counsel in cases that have garnered millions in verdicts and settlements for his clients. His extensive practice includes wrongful death, medical malpractice, birth injuries, brain injuries, auto accidents, construction accidents, defective drugs and medical devices, and civil rights matters, among others.
Smith was recently selected for membership in The National Trial Lawyers Association: Top 40 under 40. Membership in the Association's Top 40 under 40 is by invitation only and is extended exclusively to individuals who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results and leadership as a young lawyer under the age of 40. In 2011, Smith was re-elected Minority Caucus Delegate to the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and named an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at Drexel University's Earl Mack School of Law. He is also a trial advocacy and evidence instructor for the Earl Mack School of Law's championship Trial Team.
A frequent author and lecturer, Smith has published numerous scholarly articles and regularly presents educational courses to his peers. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association publication, The Verdict, as well as the editorial board of Young Lawyer, a monthly supplement to The Legal Intelligencer. He is also a regular guest on a variety of 105.3 WDAS-FM's radio programming. Smith has been recognized by Thomson Reuters, published annually in Philadelphia magazine, as a 2010 and 2011 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star, an honor reserved for the top 2.5 percent of Pennsylvania's up-and-coming lawyers.
