RESTON, VA, April 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) Pastor Pierre Bennett, founder of God's Luv International Ministries Church, has long believed in the power of faith. While serving as assistant pastor of Upper Room International Church, Pastor Pierre Bennett was struck with a vision of a worldwide ministry of care. In 2008, he took major steps toward making that vision a reality by founding God's Luv International Ministries Church.
Faith healing is a concept that dates all the way to early Biblical times, with healing regularly mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. Pastor Pierre Bennett has seen the power of God's work in his church and works to empower his congregation to believe.
"You seek God first, then you become consistent in walking in His way and then everything is yours," Pastor Pierre Bennett tells his congregation. "Even if you can't see the miraculous outcome of what the tribulation is at that moment in time, you still win- no matter what."
Pastor Pierre Bennett points to the member of his congregation who had cancer. Her cancer required a surgery that caused nerve damage to one side of her face, including an eye, Pastor Pierre Bennett recalls. Even though the doctors said it was permanent, the pastor continued to pray for her and encouraged his church members to do the same. She is now completely healed.
Although Pastor Pierre Bennett was first introduced to the power of God in church as a little boy, the path toward leading his own church was long and marked with trials and tribulations. He served in the military and worked as a salesman, eventually opening up his own business. Pastor Pierre Bennett's resort travel club business became successful even as others failed.
Then, in 1999, Pastor Pierre Bennett was in church on Easter Sunday when he was called to serve the Lord. His vision of an international mission of care prompted him to found God's Luv International Ministries. Through that ministry and LifeSource Foundation, an organization he founded that helps families in need, Pastor Pierre Bennett has made that vision a reality. LifeSource Foundation brings academic enrichment, prevention, and intervention programs to those in need throughout the world.
By teaching Scripture with a power and conviction that empowers others, Pastor Pierre Bennett has become known as a minister who believes in the power of miracles. Word has spread of the miracles that are happening at God's Luv International Ministries Church. In fact, Pastor Pierre Bennett says, an old friend once called about a co-worker that had a family member that was being tormented by evil spirits. Even though that family was eighteen hours away, they were so impressed by what they learned from Pastor Pierre Bennett they drove eighteen hours to attend his Sunday morning service. During the service, the family turned their problem over to God and asked Pastor Pierre Bennett to pray. The family was rid of all evil spirits through the power of prayer and returned home, once again at peace.
While Pastor Pierre Bennett believes in the healing power of prayer, he makes certain to let his congregation know the Lord is the true Miracle Worker. We as believers are merely the delivery system through which He brings His miracles to fruition, notes Pastor Pierre Bennett.

Pastor Pierre Bennett acknowledges that being called for a lifetime of service to the Lord and others is a special honor, reserved for a select few. Dr. Bennett received that call on Easter morning in 1999 at the Upper Room International Church. But his relationship with the Lord began much earlier.
Pastor Pierre Bennett first learned God's Word as a child, while sitting next to his grandmother in church. While his mother sang in the choir, the future Pastor Pierre Bennett was mesmerized by the church's message, and a seed was planted deep in his soul. It was a seed that would stay with Pastor Pierre Bennett as he became an adult.
Pastor Pierre Bennett began his service to others in the armed services, with an honorable term in the United States Army. Once his military service was complete, Pastor Pierre Bennett entered the travel industry, starting in sales and quickly working his way to management. From the beginning, Pastor Pierre Bennett was struck by the absence of blacks in the industry. When Pastor Pierre Bennett opened his own travel club business, he became the only black owner in his industry. He remains the only black owner to this day.
Pastor Pierre Bennett's travel club offers wholesale discounts to members, providing condos and resorts for up to 75 percent off. By researching its members' year-long vacation patterns, Pastor Pierre Bennett and his staff are able to pre-purchase group reservations in advance that save individual members thousands of dollars each year. Additionally, Pastor Pierre Bennett's members can obtain these discounts online or by calling booking agents.
It was while working in the travel industry that Pastor Pierre Bennett first received his calling to serve the Lord. While he'd always been active in the church, on Easter morning in 1999 Pastor Pierre Bennett was given a special impartation from the Lord that included a vision of worldwide care and service. Pastor Pierre Bennett continues to uphold that vision today, through the church he pastors, Gods Luv International Ministries Church, and his work with LifeSource Foundation. With LifeSource Foundation, Pastor Bennett provides academic enrichment, prevention and intervention programs to those in need, all as part of the Life Source ministry. Formerly assistant pastor at Upper Room International Church, Pastor Pierre Bennett has based his life's mission on a favorite scripture, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you." Matt 6:33.

Burtele foot indicates Lucy not alone
2012-04-04
A new fossil discovery from Eastern Africa called the Burtele foot indicates Australopithecus afarensis, an early relative of modern humans, may not have been the only hominin to walk the plains and woodlands of what is now the Afar region of Ethiopia some 3.4 million years ago.
Researchers openly have questioned whether Au. afarensis, the species to which the famous fossil "Lucy" belongs, was the only living hominin during the late Pliocene of Africa. Lucy's bones provided evidence that she and perhaps other early hominins may have walked upright, but whether or not ...

Fermi observations of dwarf galaxies provide new insights on dark matter
2012-04-04
There's more to the cosmos than meets the eye. About 80 percent of the matter in the universe is invisible to telescopes, yet its gravitational influence is manifest in the orbital speeds of stars around galaxies and in the motions of clusters of galaxies. Yet, despite decades of effort, no one knows what this "dark matter" really is. Many scientists think it's likely that the mystery will be solved with the discovery of new kinds of subatomic particles, types necessarily different from those composing atoms of the ordinary matter all around us. The search to detect and ...

Mayo Clinic-led study finds 2-drug combo slows advanced pancreatic cancer
2012-04-04
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The combination of the novel drug TH-302 with the standard drug gemcitabine has shown early signs of delaying the worsening of cancer in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer, a Mayo Clinic-led study has found. This was evaluated using a measure termed progression-free survival (PFS). According to the results of a multi-center Phase II clinical trial, patients receiving the combination of gemcitabine and TH-302 demonstrated a progression-free survival of 5.6 months compared to 3.6 months in those patients who received gemcitabine alone.
The two-month ...

2012-04-04
CORVALLIS, Ore. – A task force that conducted one of the most comprehensive analyses of global "forage fish" populations issued its report this week, which strongly recommends implementing more conservative catch limits for these crucial prey species.
The Lenfest Forage Fish Task Force calls for the harvest reduction of sardines, anchovies and other forage fish so that they can continue to serve as critical prey for larger species, including salmon, cod and tuna, as well as for dolphins, whales, penguins and seabirds.
The report concludes that the fish are "twice as ...

2012-04-04
SEATTLE: April 2, 2012 – The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that pediatric healthcare providers promote active healthy living by encouraging children to play outside as much as possible. A new study led by Pooja Tandon, MD, MPH, of Seattle Children's Research Institute found that nearly half of preschoolers in a sample representing four million U.S. children did not have even one parent-supervised ...
