LOS ANGELES, CA, April 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) International superstar entertainer Tommy the Clown is bringing his very own battle night back home to the city of angels. Starting out with the open casting call and leading into the intensity of live auditions, Tommy the Clown's Battle Night will eventually showcase face-off "battles" between some of the best local talent in the region, guaranteeing to bring you an exhilarating night of various talents and multiple styles. Tommy explains: "This is the return of Battle Night, which was also featured in the movie RIZE...There will be excitement, energy, crowd participation, and intense battles involving all styles of dance from clowning, krumping, jerking and flexing to turfing, jooking, break dancing, and popping and locking... plus a very special guest."
For nearly two decades, Tommy the Clown has been entertaining and inspiring people all over the globe with his upbeat personality, sense of humor and incomparable talent. Tommy quickly developed a loyal following in Los Angeles and realized his potential to give the youth a unique opportunity to get into dancing and entertaining instead of drugs or gangs. The "Hip Hop Clowns" quickly became the dance crew every young entertainer sought to be a part of. By 2002, over 60 clown crews were already established in Los Angeles, and Tommy the Clown claimed his responsibility to hold weekly dance battles at his former Tommy the Clown Academy. The events soon became known as Tommy the Clown's Battle Zone.
Tommy has since hosted multiple Battle Zone events including 4 highly successful events at the 17,000 capacity Los Angeles Forum. In 2005, Lions Gate Films released the critically acclaimed documentary RIZE, which was inspired by Tommy and some of his most inspirational movements and accomplishments, including Battle Night.
As far as Tommy is concerned, this is just a new beginning for the Battle Nights, "We plan to take Battle Night all over the road...We want to hit all major cities and then head out of the country once again like we did in 2007-2010."
Tommy the Clown's Battle Night will be hosted and refereed by Tommy the Clown April 27, 2012 at the JUST2GRAND Warehouse, 135 W. 155th St. Gardena, CA. 6:00pm - until the Battle ends. Tickets are $10 at the door. No seating, everyone will be standing (concert style). All ages are welcome.

What do ADHD and cancer have in common? Variety
2012-04-04
PORTLAND, Ore. - According to new research conducted at Oregon Health & Science University, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is more than one disorder. It's an entire family of disorders, much like the multiple subtypes of cancer.

It also suggests new methods for characterizing any given individual are going to be required for improved diagnosis, prognosis and ...

Burtele foot indicates Lucy not alone
2012-04-04
A new fossil discovery from Eastern Africa called the Burtele foot indicates Australopithecus afarensis, an early relative of modern humans, may not have been the only hominin to walk the plains and woodlands of what is now the Afar region of Ethiopia some 3.4 million years ago.
Researchers openly have questioned whether Au. afarensis, the species to which the famous fossil "Lucy" belongs, was the only living hominin during the late Pliocene of Africa. Lucy's bones provided evidence that she and perhaps other early hominins may have walked upright, but whether or not ...
