WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA, April 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) Actress, model, author Taylor Roberts has announced the release of her first book of poetry, Bombshell Bohemia: Poetry from the Underground. In addition, Roberts will appear alongside rapper/producer turned sketch comedy star Tyler the Creator in new comedy show, Loiter Squad, on Adult Swim.
Taylor Roberts, known for her dramatic acting in TV and film such as Law & Order Criminal Intent and independent film Admissions, adds best selling author to her resume this month. The exclusive kindle release of Bombshell Bohemia, Poetry from the Underground charted on Amazons Top 100 Bestsellers for Poetry in the first 24 hours of release. Roberts' own indie publishers Porphyrogene Press have announced the release in full hardcopy for April 21, 2012.
"Bombshell Bohemia started years ago in a journal in my back-pocket as I wandered the streets of New York City, a wide-eyed girl from Texas and North Carolina. My exposure to poetry grew from studying Shakespeare at theatre conservatory. Soon I had T.S. Eliot quotes stuck all over my walls. I would read Pablo Neruda on the subway on the way to audition for sitcoms."-Taylor Roberts
Bobshell Bohemia delves into the darkest corners of the psyche of a beautiful girl and explores a gothic underbelly rarely revealed by actors or performers. Fans of Sylvia Plath, Ted Hughes, Anne Sexton and Emily Dickinson will appreciate the complex psychology, imagery, and verse. Jeremy Radin, Writebloody Author and host of Lightbulbmouth Radio Hour in Los Angeles says, "The poems are rich with images that should feel obscure, but somehow don't. Instead, they feel like the unraveling of a debutante; a beautiful girl with too many secrets tearing a beautiful dress to shreds."
We have seen Roberts play a murderer on Law & Order, a savant in Melissa Painter's Admissions, and a sultry bikini model in ads for the UK's major lingerie brand, La Senza. April marks her comedic debut when she will appear as Tammy Duncan in Adult Swim's new sketch comedy show, Loiter Squad. Produced by Dickhouse Productions (of Jackass fame) and starring controversial rapper Tyler the Creator, the show is full of silly, strange, and utterly inappropriate humor. "Loiter Squad is a 15-minute mash-up of absurdist, boundary-pushing sketches, Punk'd-like pranks and good old-fashioned Steve-O-style slapstick — all stitched together with Odd Future's unique brand of deranged, off-kilter beats and sociopathic raps." - Nick Veronin of Wired Magazine.
Loiter Squad airs Sunday nights at 11:30 EST on Adult Swim.
Bombshell Bohemia is available on kindle, hardcopy release date: April 21, 2012.
ISBN:978-1475090253 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007JE8QVU)
