VANCOUVER, BC, April 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) K5 Learning, an online reading and math program for kindergarten to grade 5, was awarded a 2012 Parents' Choice Award as a top learning product for children, placing it among the very best online learning programs.
Established in 1978, the Parents' Choice Foundation reviews and recommends quality children's media and toys. The awards are determined by a panel of educators, scientists, artists, librarians, parents, and kids and their purpose is to search out and recommend products that help kids grow with products that are fairly priced, fun, safe and socially sound.
As part of its review of K5 Learning, the Foundation writes: "K5 Learning is an academic website that teaches core skills in math, reading, and spelling. Unlike other websites that teach these skills through entertaining games, this website focuses on academic tasks. The concepts are well presented and the tasks are clearly defined. Some tasks are presented in the more formal worksheet or assessment format and others are presented in a "story" format. The lessons emphasize fluency, and its importance for elementary students to master. The site offers individualized assessments, which can be very helpful in helping a child learn and improve skills."
"We are extremely please to be included in this year's Parents' Choice Awards as we realize that the competition for this award is fierce," comments Asa Zanatta, Chief Mom Officer, K5 Learning. "we'd like to thank the Parents' Choice Foundation for taking the time to review our online learning program."
Ends
K5 Learning was founded by parents who wanted better learning tools available to their kids for home use. In 2011 we licensed the very best reading and math software, used in countless schools, from leading U.S. education companies, exclusively for home use.
K5 Learning is formed from the combination of this award winning software. We believe K5 provides the best home use elementary school learning platform in North America.
