The Master of Science in Recreation Administration and the Doctorate in Social Work are now available in a convenient online format for students seeking an alternative way to continue their education and achieve their career goals.

The Master of Science in Recreation Administration is an accelerated degree program focused on advancing a professional's career in the field of parks and recreation. Through advanced curriculum and graduate assistantships, students grow both personally and professionally. Careers in the field involve directing and managing the programs and operational systems of recreation and leisure agencies, including park districts, outdoor experiential education centers, state and national parks, recreation centers, youth organizations, camps, conference centers, special events, resorts, campuses and private recreation businesses. GWC's master's degree program has a 96 percent placement rate, ensuring graduates find employment in their field. The master's degree program also provides a rich network of alumni, peers and industry professionals that helps to keep graduates connected and on the cutting edge of the industry.

GWC's Doctorate in Social Work is a flexible, blended degree program designed for clinical practitioners who are seeking a career in higher education. As one of only a dozen such programs offered online nationwide, this doctorate program fills the growing demand for qualified clinical theory instructors at higher education institutions across the country. The degree program is focused on the education and training of doctoral students to practice clinical social work at a highly advanced postgraduate level. The program also teaches advanced clinical theory and practice through the bachelor's and master's level programs. Students enrolled in the degree program will complete online coursework and spend a two-week residency on the GWC campus for a blended educational experience.

GWC's online degree programs are fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and experienced instructors who are leaders in their field of study facilitate the online degree programs. The online learning model attracts working professionals who seek career advancement and new job opportunities through an enhanced college education.
