DALLAS, TX, April 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) Noted Dallas trial attorney Richard A. "Dick" Sayles, cofounder of the Dallas trial law firm Sayles Werbner has been honored as a Trial Legend by the Dallas Bar Association.
Mr. Sayles was among five local trial lawyers recognized by the Dallas Bar Association's Tort and Insurance Practice Section during the 2012 Legends Program held April 3, 2012, at the Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas.
The Legends Program featured a panel discussion led by Senior District Judge Royal Ferguson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The lawyers shared their experiences and tips regarding the proper focus during case preparation; presenting merits of the case effectively; and what makes lawyers influential at trial.
Also honored during the Legends Program were attorneys Randy Johnston, Carmen Mitchell, Paula Sweeney and the late John Howie, who earned posthumous recognition.
Last year, Mr. Sayles served on the trial team that obtained a $63 million jury award in a trial heard in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division. The verdict is ranked by Verdict Search as the 36th largest verdict in the country for 2011.
Mr. Sayles routinely is recognized among the nation's leading litigators, and earned a spot among the Top 10 attorneys in Texas in the 2011 Texas Super Lawyers listing. He has been highlighted in D Magazine's annual guide to "The Best Lawyers in Dallas," and is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for his work in bet-the-company and commercial litigation.
