One in 10 Truck Drivers Is Dangerously Sleep-Deprived While On the Road

The NHTSA does not have statistics that indicate when driver fatigue is merely a contributing factor, nor is it aware of how many drowsy driver car or truck accidents go unreported.
Drowsy driving can lead to:
-Unintended lane changes or veering onto the shoulder of the road

Johnson & Johnson started selling the device in 2005 without receiving approval from the Food and Drug Administration. ...

Stopping Creditor Harassment in Oregon

The Federal Trade Commission received a record number of complaints against debt collectors in 2011, logging almost 181,000 consumer complaints. Many Oregon residents are turning to bankruptcy to help end creditor harassment, but federal law protects consumers who do not file bankruptcy from abusive collection ...

New Negotiation Timelines in Connecticut Medical Malpractice Cases
The trajectory of any medical malpractice case depends on a series of factors: the complexity of the evidence proving the alleged harm, whether existing law provides clear answers about liability, and the insurance company's willingness to negotiate a solution that is fair to the injured party or surviving family members.
Negotiated settlements can provide important advantages to plaintiffs by reducing the stress and uncertainty of the legal process and providing necessary compensation more quickly ...

Is Your Doctor Telling You the Truth? Study Results May Surprise You
Americans are conditioned to trust medical professionals. For example, television and print advertisements frequently depict doctors in white coats to add an appearance of intelligence and trustworthiness to whatever is being promoted. As a result, people are often dismayed and shocked when doctors commit errors and disappoint or harm their patients.
Results from nationwide studies of doctors were recently revealed in Health Journal, a monthly journal of health policy thought and research. The studies ...

Plan Ahead: Colorado Cracks Down on Drunk Driving
What do Thanksgiving, the winter holiday season and Super Bowl Sunday have in common?
