RAYONG, THAILAND, April 21, 2012 (Press-News.org) Amateur athletes will be able to test their mettle this May when the Rayong Triathlon and Duathlon International Championships are held in Thailand.
Organised by the Triathlon Association of Thailand, the event takes place at White Rock Garden on Mae Ram Phueng Beach on May 26th and 27th 2012 and offers opportunities for people of all ages to compete.
The first day will be given over to the duathlon portion of the championships, which lasts from 07:00 to 11:00 local time and will see competitors engaged in two bouts of running, with a bike-based section in between.
It will be followed by the full triathlon at the same time a day later, which also incorporates a swimming challenge.
Trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female winners of each event, while commemorative plates will be handed to the top three out of each age group.
All finishing racers will receive medals, while souvenir t-shirts are also to be presented to anyone who participates.
Entry fees are 700 baht (GBP14.30) for those taking part in the standard events, while the shorter sprint versions cost 500 baht to enter.
