Part of the USA Southeast Crit Series' Speed Week, the race will take place May 6, 2012. Different categories of racers feature juniors, women, men, and masters. The fast paced races consist of multiple short laps run through the city streets.
The Sandy Springs Cycling Challenge will offer a full day of activities; proceeds will go to support local charities. Races will run from 8:30am-5:30pm. The event will also include the Sandy Springs Food and Wine Classic. A variety of the city's restaurants will participate, offering delicious samples of some of their menu items. Food sample tickets will be $1 per ticket. There will also be wine tastings. Attendees can also enjoy the 4th Annual "Race to the Arts". This festival will feature dozens of outstanding artists from throughout the Southeast displaying their work. Art festival hours are 10am-6pm.
