Royal Oaks Building Group Wins 2012 ENERGY STAR For Homes Leadership In Housing Award

Local Homebuilder Sales Consultants Honored By Environmental Protection Agency For Building An Outstanding Number Of ENERGY STAR Certified Homes

RALEIGH, NC, April 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) Rich Van Tassel, president of Royal Oaks Building Group, LLC (http://www.royaloaksbg.com), has announced that the company has won the 2012 ENERGY STAR for Homes Leadership in Housing Award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA recognized Royal Oaks Building Group for building an outstanding number of ENERGY STAR certified homes during the 2011 calendar year, which promotes energy efficient construction and helps to protect the environment. Royal Oaks Building Group built 215 ENERGY STAR certified homes last year.

To date, more than 1.3 million ENERGY STAR certified homes have been built in the United States, with more than 127,000 constructed in 2011. Royal Oaks Building Group is one of more than 5,400 active ENERGY STAR for New Homes partners. Last year alone, Americans saved nearly $400 million on their utility bills and avoided greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to that of more than 510,000 vehicles through the ENERGY STAR program, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Over the past 20 years, Americans, with help from ENERGY STAR, have saved nearly $230 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 1.7 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
