Lubbock Business Leader Gordon W. Davis Honored with Alumni Achievement Award

Local business owner, Dr. Gordon W. Davis, founder and chairman of CEV Multimedia, Ltd., receives the Washington State University Alumni Association (WSUAA) Alumni Achievement Award.

LUBBOCK, TX, September 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Local business owner, Dr. Gordon W. Davis, founder and chairman of CEV Multimedia, Ltd., received the Washington State University Alumni Association (WSUAA) Alumni Achievement Award during a surprise ceremony on September 15, 2010 In Lubbock, Texas. The award recognizes Davis for his outstanding career in academia and business, and his visionary leadership in multimedia education.

A former Texas Tech University professor and proud Texas Tech supporter, Davis has been honored with 49 university, business and industry awards throughout his 42-year career. In 2004, Davis was the first recipient of Texas Tech's Department of Animal & Food Sciences Hall of Fame Distinguished Service Award, and was honored by Texas Tech as one of three outstanding agriculturists in 2009.

Today, CEV is the nation's largest multimedia producer of Career and Technical Education materials with a library of over 1,800 multimedia titles in subjects ranging from Child Care to Sports Marketing. CEV's Pathways, or programs of study, use DVDs and PowerPoint presentations to help students prepare for a successful transition from high school to postsecondary studies or the workforce. In 2010, CEV celebrated its 100 millionth student viewership of a CEV Multimedia product.

Davis is the 490th person to receive the Alumni Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed by the WSUAA. The WSU College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences also honored Davis on September 25, 2010 by inducting him into the College's Hall of Honored Alumni and Friends.
