Happy National Stuttering Week - Get Your Resume Reviewed For Free By Big Tent Jobs

Big Tent Jobs, LLC is offering free resume reviews to those celebrating National Stuttering Awareness Week.

2012-05-11
SOUTHFIELD, MI, May 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) Big Tent Jobs, LLC, the leading recruiting firm in the United States for degreed professionals with hidden and visible disabilities and chronic conditions, acknowledges the important role that people who stutter have played in the growth of the American Economy. To celebrate these contributions and National Stutter Awareness Week, which runs from May 7 - May 13 2012, the company will be offering free resume reviews through the end of May.

"During this National Stuttering Awareness Week, it is imperative that employers realize how important it is to look past the stutter and see a person with the same ambitions and goals for career advancement as any other potential job applicant," says Adam Kaplan, Founder and CEO of Big Tent Jobs, LLC.

Stuttering is a fluency disorder characterized by breaks in the flow of speech by repetitions, prolongations, or abnormal stoppages of sounds and syllables. For over 3 million Americans nationwide, or approximately 1% of the population, stuttering is an everyday hurdle to overcome, especially in the workplace. In times of stress or nervousness, like during a job interview, the symptoms tend to increase and become harder to control.

Unfortunately, many interviewers are put off by a potential employee's stutter and fail to capitalize on what that person is truly capable of accomplishing. People who stutter are just as intelligent and well adjusted as non-stutterers. Every industry has leaders in it who have been stutterers. Famous individuals who have stuttered include Jack Welch, former CEO of GE, Vice President Joe Biden, Isaac Newton, Shaquille O'Neal, Nicole Kidman, and Marilyn Monroe, to name just a few.

Big Tent Jobs is committed to helping educated, hard-working individuals with stutters find the jobs for which they are most qualified in accounting, finance, IT, sales, marketing, management, and much more. In accordance with National Stuttering Awareness Week, Big Tent Jobs is offering free resume reviews to anyone who submits one from today through May 31st.

Being prepared for an interview, which is perhaps the single most difficult speaking situation in which a stutterer will find himself, according to the Stuttering Foundation of America, is the best way to minimize stress and potential increases in stammering. The first step in that preparation is making sure one has a resume that puts the applicant's best foot forward.
