New EMI Receiver from Teseq Significantly Reduces Test Time, Improves Accuracy

The PMM 9010F is ideal for conducted and radiated emissions testing of appliances, power tools and machinery.

2012-05-12
EDISON, NJ, May 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) Teseq Inc., a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, now offers a new EMI receiver that reduces test time from hours to seconds and improves accuracy. The PMM 9010F is ideal for conducted and radiated emissions testing of appliances, power tools and machinery. This new EMI receiver is up to 300 times faster than the PMM 9010.

In full compliance with CISPR 16-1-1 and IEC-EN standards, this new EMI/EMC measurement receiver uses Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) analysis to reduce test time and improve accuracy. These fast and reliable tests provide users with immediate feedback for all measurement detectors, eliminating the need for time consuming pre-test and rescanning with Average and Quasi-Peak detectors.

The PMM 9010F has a standard frequency range of 10 Hz to 30 MHz and is expandable up to 18 GHz by using external modules including Teseq's 9030, 9060 and 9180. Scan time that used to take hours with a conventional receiver can now be performed by the PMM 9010F in less than 25 seconds when the device is adjusted to the full CISPR setting. This setting includes a span of 9 kHz to 30 MHz, a hold time of one second, a pre-selector switched to the 'on' position, a CISPR RBW at 200 Hz as well as 9 KHz and CISPR detectors that include PK, Qpeak, C-Avg, CRMS and RMS-Avg.

The PMM 9010F is ideal for testing products with short or varying operational cycles because it eliminates the need for separate pre- and post-test scans which can miss short term or transient emission signals. The receiver features a low noise floor, less than -24 dBµV in band A and less than -7 dBµV in band B, eliminating the need for external pre-amplifiers.

This user-friendly receiver can be used as a stand-alone device or in conjunction with the powerful PMM Emissions Suite. The PMM 9010F is lightweight and features an internal battery making portability easy.

Existing 9010 receivers can easily be upgraded by simply returning the unit to the factory. A new calibration certificate is issued upon completion of the upgrade.

Teseq is the exclusive North American distributor of PMM, a brand of Narda Safety Test Solutions srl, which manufactures the compact modular PMM 9010F.

The PMM 9010F starts at $24,500. Delivery is 8 to 12 weeks ARO.
