San Francisco Periodontists Establish The Practice SF to Serve Bay Area Patients

The Practice SF to focus on oral health as a gateway to systemic and emotional health

2010-09-29
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, September 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Dr. Gregory J. Conte, DMD, MS, and Dr. Paola Guglielmoni, DDS, MS, San Francisco periodontists, have become partners and formed The Practice SF, a periodontal healthcare and implant dentistry practice. Dr. Conte and Dr. Guglielmoni work with Bay Area dentists to treat patients with periodontal disease and to rehabilitate patients with missing or failing dentition using the most current dental implant technology.

Medical research continues to reveal a direct connection between periodontal disease and other systemic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke. Treating periodontal disease early can help to identify early signs of general systemic conditions in patients. In addition, oral hygiene is proving key to promoting systemic health and stemming the occurrence of serious systemic conditions as well as containing existing conditions. The Practice SF, in emphasizing oral health, will put periodontal healthcare - therapy to repair the damaging effects of periodontal disease - and implant dentistry - the replacement of lost teeth through dental implant technology - to the purpose of improving the systemic health and quality of life of each patient.

Dr. Conte and Dr. Guglielmoni work closely with general dentists in using dental implants to repair the effects of periodontal disease and to replace missing teeth, or teeth lost due periodontal disease. Dental implants are the most comfortable solution to the loss of one's natural teeth. They preserve the proper function of a patient's teeth as well as to advance the patient's emotional health. As such, they give the patient both a health benefit and the satisfaction that the patient looks and feels his or her best. The doctors will write about periodontal healthcare and implant dentistry on their blog at http://www.blog.thepracticesf.com.

"In establishing The Practice SF, Dr. Guglielmoni and I are dedicating our team of professionals to treating periodontal disease and its effects in the most effective way possible," said Dr. Gregory Conte. "Our mission is to help patients learn about oral hygiene and aggressively treat a disease that can play a role in serious systemic diseases. We need to make the public aware of the critical importance of proper oral hygiene and maintenance around their teeth, including their implant restorations."

"We are energized by the opportunity to work with general dentists and physicians to help patients lead healthy lives," said Dr. Paola Guglielmoni. "The Practice SF will seek to bring attention to the importance of oral health, new periodontal treatments, and the effectiveness of implant dentistry in restoring functional ability as well as a person's smile."

The Practice SF is a periodontal healthcare and implant dentistry practice in San Francisco, California. The doctors and staff focus on the treatment of periodontal disease and the restoration of teeth lost as a result of periodontal trauma. For more information, visit http://www.thepracticesf.com.
