Cadac Organice issues Case Study about Controlled Communication

Case Study about using Microsoft SharePoint for controlled communication in engineering projects between owner operators, contractors and vendors

2012-05-24
HEERLEN, THE NETHERLANDS, May 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) Cadac Organice, a Microsoft Gold ISV Partner and developer of the Cadac Organice Suite (SharePoint-based solutions for Engineering Document Management and Control) has issued a case study about using Microsoft SharePoint for controlled communication in engineering projects between owner operators, contractors and vendors.

For projects and maintenance of capital assets owner operators outsource engineering and construction work to contractors and vendors. This is often done in EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) or EPCM (Engineering Procurement Construction Management) contracts. To collaborate efficiently it is very important that project partners are able to communicate in a structured and controlled manner.

Project partners need a clear and up-to-date overview of project information to avoid errors, and tasks need to be completed in time to avoid project delay. Project errors can lead to additional costs and safety issues. Project delay can lead to increased asset downtime, reduced production and lost revenue. This in turn can lead to claims and penalties for involved parties.

Cadac Organice leverages Microsoft SharePoint as a platform for Enterprise Content Management and (Project) Collaboration and enriches SharePoint with functionality for Engineering Document Management & Control. It allows owner operators, contractors and vendors to efficiently communicate and collaborate in maintenance and capital projects. Cadac Organice supports project partners in efficiently submitting documents to owner operators, and supports owner operators in reviewing documents and providing feedback to the partners.

Cadac Organice has issued a case study about controlled communication between owner operators, contractors and vendors in engineering projects. The case study describes how project partners are able to submit and review documents, and how it is ensured that project members are aware of their tasks and that tasks are accomplished in time.

The case study about Controlled Communication is available for download from http://www.organice.com.
