SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT, May 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) Logic Supply, a leading provider of specialized computers for industrial and embedded applications, introduces the LGX ML200 Fanless Case. Engineered around the Intel DN2800MT "Marshalltown" Thin Mini-ITX motherboard, the ML200 capitalizes on the board's low-profile design, offering a height of less than 1.5 inches. Mountable and durable, the ML200 is a robust, industrial enclosure perfect for appliance computing, remote deployments, data/image acquisition, and factory automation.
"Our engineering team saw the need to take advantage of the Marshalltown's small footprint and pair it with a high-quality ruggedized case," Kristina Bond, Product Marketing at Logic Supply, explained. "Based on feedback from Intel's Small Form Factor/All-in-One group, LGX has created an industrial case specifically built around the advantages of the Marshalltown."
The DN2800MT ("Marshalltown") is Intel's follow-up to the popular D945GSEJT ("Johnstown") board that launched the Thin Mini-ITX platform. Improvements include a dual core CPU and lower TDP (from 11.8 W to just 8 W). Updated I/O includes support for mSATA storage, HDMI, and high-current USB 2.0 ports for fast charging of other devices. The ML200 leverages the versatile feature set of the DN2800MT, allowing support for two storage devices (mSATA and SATA HDD) as well as touting slimmed down dimensions and fanless design.
The ML200 has a clean and simple look and feel, with an extruded aluminum top and plenty of surface area for heat dissipation. Forgoing a fan, the enclosure's heat pipe provides effective cooling while protecting the internal system from exposure to dust and grime.
In addition to the standard back panel I/O of the DN2800MT, the ML200 has expansion options for two wireless antennas, as well as space for a four-pin power connector for use in automotive applications. The front panel offers two additional USB ports, COM port punch-outs, and a power button. The ML200 comes standard with mounting brackets for quick installation to a variety of surfaces, including DIN mounting rails.
The ML200 was showcased at the Intel Solution Summit in New Orleans. See YouTube for the short product video: http://youtu.be/So5lgSfuGPU
