In the coming months, WinMagic and Interwork will coordinate and execute a joint go to market strategy to enlist new resellers to resell and deploy SecureDoc for customers throughout Canada. Part of this program will include local campaigns and events for resellers seeking new, innovative data encryption and security solutions to offer their customers.

SecureDoc is a comprehensive disk encryption and data security product that secures data at rest. It has two main components: the client software used to encrypt and protect data and the server software (SecureDoc Enterprise Server or SES) used to configure, deploy, and manage encryption for an entire organization.

Armed with a full arsenal of data protection solutions, SecureDoc provides: full disk encryption; file and folder encryption; removable media and removable media container encryption; departmental server encryption; centralized management; Active Directory and LDAP integration, and much more. SecureDoc also makes it easy to centrally manage and use standard drives and self-encrypting drives including TCG OPAL-compliant drives.

SecureDoc uses a FIPS 140-2 level 1 and level 2 certified AES 256-bit cryptographic engine to encrypt data. SecureDoc was the first product in market to introduce network-based pre-boot authentication. This technology, PBConnex, has been recognized throughout the industry as a market leading security solution significantly reducing the total cost of ownership of data encryption. Most recently, WinMagic was awarded Security Magazine's Innovator of the Year Award in 2011 for SecureDoc and the groundbreaking functionality PBConnex offers.

WinMagic's SecureDoc data encryption and security solution protects sensitive data stored on desktops, servers as well as portable media such as laptops and removable media including USB thumb drives and CD/DVDs. It is compatible with all editions of Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP, and 2000 as well as Mac OS X Lion, Snow Leopard, Leopard and Linux platforms.

2012-06-30
Several years ago, the state of Ohio began a search funded by a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration grant. Officials were looking for a single type of breath alcohol testing instrument that could replace the hodgepodge of different machines in use at the time. In 2007, the state of Ohio contracted with CMI, Inc. to purchase 700 Intoxilyzer 8000 breath alcohol testing machines at a cost of over $6 million. Approved for use in Ohio OVI cases in 2009, the Intoxilyzer 8000 began hitting the streets in full force. Yet, by that time, lawsuits filed in Minnesota, ...

The OTS study also found that 46 percent of young drivers felt that ...

Bicycle Accidents and Safety in California

2012-06-30
For many people in California, riding their bikes is a way of life. It is a way to get to work or spend leisure time, but though it can be fun, it can also be dangerous. Unfortunately, bicyclists do not have much of the protection that many motorists do, such as the protection of the vehicle itself in to safety devices like air bags and seatbelts. Safe riding practices may prevent some accidents involving a bicycle; however, in many circumstances there is little a bicyclist can do to prevent an accident. There are many different risks and accident causes that California ...

Oil and Gas Truck Hours-of-Service Exceptions May Cause Driver Fatigue

2012-06-30
Ask anyone who works at an excavation site for an oil or natural gas mining operation, and they'll tell you that drilling can be dangerous work. But one of the biggest threats facing oil and gas workers -- as well as the general public -- is not explosions, or equipment malfunctions, or noxious fumes. It is something that, at first glance, seems far less threatening: truck accidents. While highway accidents can be a danger in any profession that involves travel on the open road, they appear to be especially prevalent in the oil and gas industry. Why? Many experts blame ...
