Angel Outfielder To Host Fundraiser In Irvine July 25

Outfielder Vernon Wells & Wife To Host Event Benefiting Homeless & "Motel" Families

LONG BEACH, CA, June 30, 2012

Outfielder and MLB All-Star Vernon Wells and his wife, Charlene, will host a VIP soiree at a private mansion in Shady Canyon in Irvine to raise funds for two local nonprofits, Caterina's Club and his own Perfect 10 Charity. Players from the Anaheim Angels roster will be in attendance at the cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception, which will be held on Wednesday, July 25 at 6 p.m. The event is being catered by the Anaheim White House, whose owner, Bruno Serato, founded Caterina's Club to feed children in his own backyard - the so called "motel" children - whose working-class parents are relegated to living in low-cost motel rooms.

In addition to hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, guests may enjoy a live water sphere performance by Way 2 Much Entertainment, dancing to music by a DJ and an exclusive live auction hosted by Kent French, broadcaster for the Anaheim Ducks.

Tickets are $250. To purchase, visit http://www.vwp10.org or contact megan.seltzer@yahoo.com , (951) 312-9623.

Wells, winner of 3 Golden Glove Awards, established the Perfect 10 Charity with his wife in 2009 to support and protect homeless children and single mothers. "I am so pleased to be partnering with Caterina's Club," said Wells, "I know the event will be a great success." Serato's Caterina's Club, founded 6 years ago, has served more than 400,000 hot meals to needy children in Anaheim. Honored as a CNN Top 10 Hero in 2011, Serato recently embarked on the next step of his journey, which is to find permanent housing for these motel families.
