TORONTO, ON, July 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) The ballots are in and Canada's travel agents have spoken. For the fifth consecutive year, G Adventures, a leading small-group adventure tour operator, has been crowned Canada's favourite Adventure Tour Operator in Baxter Travel Media's 2012 Agents' Choice Awards. The tour operator has received the top ranking in this category since it was introduced in 2008.
The annual competition calls on agents from across Canada to rank their favourite travel companies in various categories. The number of agents that participated in the survey this year increased by 30 per cent - from 4,762 participants to 6,151. G Adventures received over 3,800 points in the adventure tour operator category.
"I am deeply humbled to be receiving this award and would like to thank all of our industry partners. They have played an integral role in our success since the very beginning," says Bruce Poon Tip, G Adventures' Founder. "In the last year we've expanded our product lineup to include several new programs such as Local Living, G-Plus and tours in North America. Agents have shown nothing but their continued support and it is greatly appreciated."
G Adventures also placed eighth in the environmentally friendly company category, and eighth in the overall tour operator category.
Poon Tip credits the company's purpose-driven business model and core values for its strong industry partner relationships. "I believe agents today want to work with companies that care about more than just the bottom line. Our business model transcends being just a travel company and engages the agent community and our customers with a greater purpose," adds Poon Tip. "We love changing people's lives through enriching and meaningful experiences, and we travel in a way that's both responsible and respectful - beneficial for the host and traveller alike."
Customer service is paramount at G Adventures. "We're a customer obsessed company committed to leading with service," shares Poon Tip. "For that reason, we've achieved phenomenal loyalty and retention - benefits our industry partners enjoy as well."
