NEW YORK, NY, October 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) NYC based independent record label MPress Records has just confirmed the lineup for their annual showcase event at this year's CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival. The event will take place at Gallery Bar in New York City on Thursday, October 21 @ 6:30 PM, and is sponsored by Social Exposure, Powderfinger Promotions, A to Z Media and Blurt Magazine. This is an official CMJ showcase, so attendees with badges will enjoy free entry.
The line up features two-time Independent Music Award Winner and NY glam-pop etoile Rachael Sage; MPress artist and acclaimed songsmith Seth Glier; internationally renowned guitarist for the legendary Richie Havens, Walter Parks; celebrated singer-songwriter and fiercely unique cellist, Lindsay Mac; versatile singer-songwriter, star of YouTube sensation "Rosh Hashanah Girl," and composer Michelle Citrin; and indie maverick, dynamic songwriter and performer Melissa Ferrick.
The schedule features artists from MPress Records' compilation series New Arrivals. Launched in 2006, the New Arrivals charity compilation series highlights established and rising indie artists and each benefits a charity - Volume 1 benefited Gulf Coast Hurricane Relief, Volume 2 benefited World Hunger Year, and Volume 3 benefited NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association).
New Arrivals Volume 4, slated for release Spring 2011, will benefit The National Network For Youth, and will include tracks from the artists on this year's CMJ event lineup, as well as selections from Caleb Hawley, The Paper Raincoat, Dave Eggar, Katie Costello and Verve artist Lucy Woodward.
MPressFest CMJ 2010 Official Showcase @ Gallery Bar (120 Orchard St. @ Delancey) on Thursday, October 21st. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the music starts shortly thereafter. Entry is free for CMJ badge holders and admission is $7.00 and $5.00 with event flyer.
