Kreig Mitchell Joins Engineered Tax Services in Advisory Role

Tax expert Kreig Mitchell joins brain trust for Engineered Tax Services.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, July 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) Engineered Tax Services (ETS) has bolstered its deep technical team with the addition of Kreig Mitchell to their advisory board. Mr. Mitchell is considered one of the foremost experts in the country in the area of research and development tax credits. Mr. Mitchell is a tax attorney with broad and deep experience in all aspects of federal and state research tax credits and incentives. He is also a noted expert in tax controversy matters.

During his career, Mr. Mitchell has worked as a tax attorney in private practice, a tax consultant for a research tax credit firm, and an attorney and appeals officer for the IRS. He has advised clients on all aspects of research tax credit matters—from tax returns through to tax litigation.

His work has resulted in significant policy changes. For example, Mr. Mitchell has participated in the IRS's research tax credit round-table, which the IRS used to evaluate its audit process for those credits. He has also worked with research tax credit claims before the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) and State Board of Equalization, resulting in the FTB issuing taxpayer-favorable guidance.

Mr. Mitchell has written extensively on federal and state research tax credits and incentives. He is the author of Research Tax Credits, a book published by the American Law Institute-American Bar Association. His research tax credit articles are in a number of tax publications, including the Journal of Tax Practice and Procedure, Practical Tax Strategies and The M&A Tax Adviser.
