SAN DIEGO, CA, July 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) Starting this August, the Academy of Arts and Sciences Charter School, in conjunction with My Tech High - California, will be offering an online, tuition-free program focused on technology and entrepreneurship to students ages 11-18 across five counties in Northern California. Tech-minded students will now have the option to follow their passions in technology, digital animation, computer game programming, entrepreneurship and more - all from the convenience of their homes.
As a way to connect like-minded parents interested in an online tech education program, My Tech High will be hosting a summer family movie event in Santa Rosa on July 17th at 1 pm.
In 2008, Founder and CEO, Matt Bowman launched My Tech High in response to concerns that parents, children and schools lack adequate resources to develop important technology and business skills that our desperately country needs.
"America was founded on the principles of innovation and entrepreneurship and we're just not teaching enough of those skills to our youth," says Matt. "My Tech High works closely with parents to design a personalized learning program for each child. We believe that a strong foundation in technology is essential for success - in college, career and life."
This unique charter school program offers a wide-range of online core curriculum classes in addition to teen-friendly tech topics such as Game Design, Web Design, Robotics, Flash Animation, Audio Engineering, Digital Arts, Financial Literacy for Teens, and many more.
All online courses are supported by California-certified teachers who help the students successfully progress at their own pace throughout the year.
On July 17, families interested in a home-based, tuition-free online tech education program are invited to attend a private showing of the movie "Ice Age 4" in 3D in Santa Rosa. Prospective students in Mendocino, Lake, Sonoma, Napa and Marin counties who submit an RSVP by July 10, 2012, are invited to attend free of charge (limited seating available). To RSVP and learn more about courses offered, please visit mytechhigh.com/iceage/.
If you would like more information, or to schedule an interview with Matt Bowman, please contact Mikki Cabrera at (858) 480-1676 or cabrera@mytechhigh.com.
