LateRooms.com - Cell Art Space in Cairns to Host eScapism

Some of the works of artist Chrissy Dwyer will be on display at the Cell Art Space in November 2010.

2010-10-02
CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA, October 02, 2010 (Press-News.org) Travellers who are eager to get a feel for the varied vistas in far north Queensland should pay a visit to a new exhibition opening at the Cell Art Space in the coming weeks.

James Cook University graduate Chrissy Dwyer's eScapism will be on display at the gallery from November 6th to December 4th 2010 and will be a must-see for lovers of the great outdoors.

Commenting on the launch of the new installation, the art space has stated: "This body of work captures a series of 'scapes' - landscapes, seascapes, skyscapes and cityscapes - illustrating the essence of far north Queensland scenery."

A browse around the exhibition could inspire people staying in Cairns accommodation to head out and explore the region themselves.

The venue has described the artist's works as having a contemporary feel, in which she makes use of vibrant textures and colours.

Writing on her own website, Dwyer has stated she does not aim for photorealism in her paintings, but instead looks to "capture the essence of the subject matter".

Although the exhibition kicks off on November 6th, the grand opening night takes place on November 12th, with cheap accommodation Cairns guests invited to attend and officially launch eScapism.

The event will run from 17:30 to 20:30 local time.

For more information on this event, visit the Cell Art Space website.
