GREEN BAY, WI, July 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) Encap, a lawn and garden product company of Green Bay, Wisconsin, is hosting an exciting contest for homeowners this summer: the chance to win a DIY Lawn Makeover.
The contest, aimed at homeowners across the United States, is looking for those in dire need of a lawn makeover. In order to enter the contest, participants must submit a photo of their lawn, along with their story of why they deserve to win a lawn makeover. The contest will run through the middle of August, and voting will continue until September 1. The top ten finalists will be chosen by peer voting, and the three winners will be chosen by a panel of Encap judges.
After launching a little over a week ago, the contest already has several entries, and the entries keep coming. "We are excited to give someone a chance at a better lawn. Everyone deserves a yard they can enjoy," said President of Encap, Chris Calawerts. "A lot of people get discouraged when it comes to fixing their lawns, because it can seem overwhelming, and they just don't know how or where to start. We want to show people that they can do it themselves, and it doesn't have to be a daunting task...it can be fun and easy."
Unlike other contests of its kind, winners of this contest will work directly with Encap to determine the needs of their lawn and soil. Encap will then provide winners with the necessary Encap product and guidelines to restore their lawns. "Our mantra is 'a better earth from the ground up,' and that's what this is about: we're really working with the needs of the soil to create a permanent solution, rather than putting down product as a temporary band aid," Calawerts noted. In addition to this, winners will also receive a $100 gift card to Home Depot (this contest is not affiliated with Home Depot in any way).
The contest is one of various contests that can be found on the Encap website. For more information on the contest, head to http://encap.net/contests/lawn-makeover-2012/.
