Dallas Pastor Ed Young: Digital Communication Wears Down Intimacy

There is no arguing that digital technology has improved communication; through technological innovations, individuals can share ideas faster and easier than ever before. But it is possible that this ease of communication requires the compromise of the quality of that communication. "Society, today, revolves around instant gratification," Ed Young asserts. "Relationships are facilitated by technology and people have less of an opportunity to get to know one another on a deeper level. Intimacy is the foundation of many a relationship, especially the relationships built between a husband and a wife. Although today's technology has improved a great deal, I sincerely hope that couples remember to take the time to develop the intimacy that technological innovations cannot provide."

As is evident from the press statement, Ed Young believes that, with dedication and effort, couples can build up their intimacy despite the interference of technology.
