NEW YORK, NY, July 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) SS United States Day marks the maiden voyage of the historical ship. This year, Wednesday, July 18th, we will be celebrating the SS United States' 60th anniversary. In New York City the maiden voyage will be recognized and celebrated aboard the Lexington.
This July 18th the M/V "Lexington" will trace the path traveled by the SS United States sixty years ago, as she entered and departed New York Harbor for the first time. Owner, David Hackert, has generously arranged the trip and all the proceeds will go directly to the SS United States conservancy to help preserve and protect this historic vessel. The trip onboard the Lexington will include a light lunch, beer and wine.
The Lexington is a renowned 92-foot yacht, perfect for this tribute to the SS United States. It offers an upscale atmosphere with both built-in classic style, and modern conveniences all rolled into one. The Lexington was recently redecorated in 2011 with even more amenities and classic features.
We are honored to be a part of this special celebration and welcome our special guests as they enjoy this scenic trip. The cruise is scheduled to depart from Skyport Marina at 11:00 am and return at 1:00 pm.
