New Testing Facility For Uniline Safety Systems

Uniline Safety Systems have recently completed a major investment program in new testing facilities at their head office in Redditch, Worcestershire.

REDDITCH, ENGLAND, October 02, 2010

As part of the companys ongoing commitment to the development and testing of fall protection systems for the roofing sector, Uniline have constructed a brand new test facility that will enable the testing of Roof Anchorage Systems to EN795 Class A & C as well as the ACR[M] 002 2009 Testing of Roof Anchors on Roof Systems.

The ACR testing standard was developed by the industry, including representatives from Roof Manufacturers, the HSE and the Work at Height Safety Association. It followed calls for more comprehensive testing of fall protection systems/anchors on as built roof systems as the current EN795 standard was considered to be inadequate and placed users at risk.

ACR[M] 002 2009 requires that anchors are tested on a 36m2 test rig, installed with representative as built roof systems and that dynamic and static loads are applied in three directions.

Unilines test facility will enable tests to be conducted in accordance with the ACR[M] 002 2009 as well as providing a facility for enhanced product development activities.

Unilines Managing Director, Simon Luke says:
Uniline have always had a proactive testing program and have worked with all major roof manufacturers over the past 10 years to ensure our products are safe when installed on as built roof systems. Our new facility reinforces our commitment to product safety in our industry and allows Uniline to set high standards that provide our customers with great peace of mind. In the current climate when cheap products, often supplied with unsubstantiated claims of compliance are being offered, it is important that customers can still rely on established manufacturers products, backed up with test evidence.
