SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI, July 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) Disk Troubles? WindowSMART 2012 Lets You Know - NOW!

Dojo North Software has released version 2.2.6.20 of WindowSMART 2012, a hard disk and solid state disk health monitoring, reporting and alerting utility for Windows. WindowSMART 2012 monitors the self-monitoring analysis and reporting technology (SMART) attributes in hard disks and solid state disks, and promptly generates alert notifications when unhealthy disk conditions are detected. Users can choose to be notified by email and, if they have an Android or Apple phone or tablet, be notified NOW via Notify My Android and Prowl, respectively. WindowSMART 2012 runs as a full-featured trial for a full 30 days, after which you must purchase a license to continue using it.

Perfectly healthy hard disks and SSDs can, and do, fail without warning. However, most tend to show warning signs, such as blue screens and lock-ups, that something is wrong hours, days or longer before they die.

With WindowSMART 2012, you can be notified NOW at the first sign of trouble. Most users would gladly know something was wrong with the disk before dies. Advance warning gives you the opportunity to make a backup of the data residing on the disk, and perhaps seek a warranty replacement or order a new disk. With WindowSMART's Notify My Android and Prowl functionality, you can be notified NOW on your compatible Android or Apple mobile device when a problem pops up. After all, you might only check your email a handful of times per day, but an NMA or Prowl alert can get your attention the moment it happens.

Additional features include a comprehensive user interface, running hard disk and solid state disk self-tests and exporting SMART data to HTML or text. WindowSMART also supports watchful waiting-you can elect to ignore some problems, such as bad sectors, and you won't be notified about them again unless they worsen.

WindowSMART 2012 supports all client and server versions of Windows, from XP SP-3/Server 2003 through Windows 8/Server 2012. Most IDE, SATA, USB and FireWire disks are supported. Unfortunately hardware RAID is not supported, and SAS support is very limited.

License pricing starts at $15 for a home non-commercial license and $20 for a home/home office (SOHO) license. Home/SOHO licenses are good for all computers in the home. Tiered pricing is available for businesses, depending on the number of computers to be licensed. Discounts for members of the US military are available. Please visit https://www.dojonorthsoftware.net/TBM/Purchase.aspx for full details. Pricing for non-profit organizations, educational institutions and governments is also available.
