"I can see why the mayor has made this decision; it's been a very tough couple of years, and many of the companies that use these larger vans and minibuses are small businesses that have been struggling," commented Simon Joyce, Sales Director of Anchor Vans. "I imagine they don't want to put any more financial pressure onto them. However, switching to an LPG van now could save them a lot of money, especially if they buy now before the prices are pushed up by the increase in demand that we'll see in 2011."
"We've already sold a lot of LPG vans to people who need to go into the London Congestion Charge Zone," Simon continued. "Aside from the obvious environmental benefits, and the cheaper fuel costs, our customers are saving up to almost GBP2000 a year by making that change. In fact, many of our van finance customers are effectively paying for the van with that saving, meaning that they don't have to struggle to pay. Apparently there are 70,000 vehicle owners that will be affected by the new deadline," Simon added, "So I strongly recommend that people buy their LPG vans now as the demand is only going to go up."
