Anchor Vans urges van and minibus drivers to make the most of the London LEZ deadline extension and buy LPG vans now before prices rocket in 2011

Anchor Vans, a leading new and used van retailer, has predicted that prices of LPG vans will increase sharply due to the announcement that van and minibus drivers will not have to meet the London LEZ emission standards until January 2012

2010-10-02
PADWORTH, ENGLAND, October 02, 2010 (Press-News.org) Anchor Vans - one of the leading vendors of used vans in the UK is urging van and minibus drivers to buy LPG vans now in light of the recent announcement by the mayor of London confirming that larger vans and minibuses will not be required to meet Low Emission Zone (LEZ) standards until January 2012. Anchor Vans predicts that the prices of LPG vans will rise sharply towards the end of 2011 when business owners are forced to meet the strict emissions standards or be fined GBP500 a day. For more information call 0118 9710 230 or go to http://www.anchorvans.co.uk/vans/lpg.

"I can see why the mayor has made this decision; it's been a very tough couple of years, and many of the companies that use these larger vans and minibuses are small businesses that have been struggling," commented Simon Joyce, Sales Director of Anchor Vans. "I imagine they don't want to put any more financial pressure onto them. However, switching to an LPG van now could save them a lot of money, especially if they buy now before the prices are pushed up by the increase in demand that we'll see in 2011."

"We've already sold a lot of LPG vans to people who need to go into the London Congestion Charge Zone," Simon continued. "Aside from the obvious environmental benefits, and the cheaper fuel costs, our customers are saving up to almost GBP2000 a year by making that change. In fact, many of our van finance customers are effectively paying for the van with that saving, meaning that they don't have to struggle to pay. Apparently there are 70,000 vehicle owners that will be affected by the new deadline," Simon added, "So I strongly recommend that people buy their LPG vans now as the demand is only going to go up."
