SCOTTSDALE, AZ, October 02, 2010 (Press-News.org) Adiant Solutions (http://www.adiant-solutions.com), a newly formed Scottsdale company that offers hi-tech solutions for improving people's lives, was selected as the authorized distributor of the S-911 Bracelet in the U.S. by Laipac Technologies, manufacturer of the assisted GPS personal tracking device. The bracelet's features include two-way communication, real-time tracking, customer controlled geo-fencing, G-sensor shock alert to detect falls, automatic answering after three rings, phone book, speed sensor, and panic button — making it the first emergency location device to provide this many features in one unit.
In addition, ASIS International has named the S-911 Bracelet as one of its 2010 ASIS Accolades winners. ASIS Accolades annually recognizes security's most innovative products, services and solutions.
Adiant Solutions CEO Jim Jeselun, and owner of Villa Home Care — a geriatric care management and non-medical private duty home care — says this product provided the perfect reason to form another company.
"With Villa Home Care, we saw firsthand on a daily basis the need out there for our clients to have a product like the S-911 Bracelet," said Jeselun, a former law enforcement officer. "There is nothing else out there quite like this product."
The S-911 Bracelet is a lightweight device worn around the wrist and is about the size of a designer watch. It will be marketed toward the elderly suffering from mild dementia, as well as those with other cognitive disorders such as schizophrenia, autism or Down syndrome. It employs assisted GPS technology, meaning unlike standard GPS devices, it also works indoors. It automatically calls, e-mails or texts stored contacts if it detects an emergency, with a final call sending GPS coordinates to the 9-1-1 emergency number. It's also equipped with tamper detection and an optional security band that can't be removed without authorization.
Jeselun's confidence in his new company doing well is bolstered not just by the size of the potential market —the Alzheimer's market alone numbers about 5.3 million people nationwide — but also by the current recession. He feels as the need to conserve financial resources has increased, more people are looking for an economical alternative to costly nursing homes or in-home care for assisting loved ones with cognitive disabilities, at least those not requiring constant care.
The S-911 Bracelet will retail for $495 plus $59.95 for monthly monitoring.
