ORLANDO, FL, July 21, 2012 (Press-News.org) Orlando criminal defense attorney Zahra Umansky of the Umansky Law Firm was successfully able to get the charges against her client dropped in a burglary of dwelling case. Burglary of dwelling charges, which are levied against an individual who allegedly breaks into another person's house, carry serious criminal consequences including a mandatory prison sentence.

According to the facts reported in the Seminole County Court records, Ms. Umansky's client allegedly broke into someone else's house and stole some property. During her pretrial preparation, Ms. Umansky researched fingerprint analysis technology documents in order to more effectively cross examine the prosecution's expert witnesses. Her research showed that it is possible for human error in fingerprint analysis to yield inaccurate results. On the morning of the trial, the prosecutor dropped the charges upon discovering that Ms. Umansky planned to challenge the fingerprint evidence.
