PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 26, 2012 (Press-News.org) Styker Orthopedics announced a massive recall of two of their models used in hip replacement surgeries, Rejuvenate and ABG II. Stryker Orthopedics stated they were terminating distribution due to a possible defect that could result in device failure, development of Pseudotumors, and other long lasting and permanent side effects. There have already been at least 45 accounts of patients reporting tissue swelling, pain and discomfort.
"Hip replacement is a major surgical procedure and it's difficult enough without having to deal with the negligence of a defective device.
