How Aging Affects the Structure of Your Eyes

2012-07-29
Just as your physical strength tends to diminish with age, your eyes will also start to decline in their overall performance - especially when you reach age 60 and beyond. Some age-related changes in your eyes are completely normal and do not indicate any kind of disease process. For example, presbyopia is a normal development once you pass the age of 40. As your lens begins to harden and lose its natural focusing ability, you will notice that it's harder to focus on nearby objects. Most people compensate for this change by holding reading material further away from ...

Dental Hygiene and Porcelain Veneers

2012-07-29
There is no reason your porcelain veneers should interfere with your dental hygiene routine. However, the way in which you care for your veneers will impact both their appearance and longevity, making proper dental hygiene just as important after you have had veneers placed. Meanwhile, passengers riding in the back seat of a van or SUV during a car accident can reduce their risk of injury by 73%. Putting Seatbelts into Perspective When an obstacle looms ahead of you before a collision, your car may stop in the first ...

How Safe is Liposuction?

2012-07-29
Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures in the United States today. Risks of Liposuction The largest risk of liposuction is contour irregularities. When a plastic surgeon over or under corrects an area, the end results can be lumpy, uneven, and dimpled skin. Poor liposuction techniques may also fail to encourage your skin to full firm to your newly toned ...

2012-07-29
Gov. Rick Scott recently signed into a law a bill that proponents see as a victory for Florida drivers, as it is expected to reduce accident fraud and high auto insurance premiums. Florida requires its residents to carry PIP coverage, which covers the driver's medical bills up to $10,000 regardless of who is at fault for the car accident. The new law aims to fight insurance fraud by banning drivers from using their PIP benefits to ...
