WATERLOO, ON, July 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) In the event of an emergency, Ground Force staff will be on-site within 4 hours of receiving the call.
We will assess, contain and clean up the spill before it can become an environmental catastrophe, and will also inform The Spills Action Centre (SAC), as required by Part X of the Environmental Protection Act.
After the initial response, it is imperative to have a consultant on-site to work alongside Ground Force's Environmental Remediation Crew to delineate the extent of the spill and to take samples to determine if the spill has impacted the soil or groundwater in the vicinity.
On occasion, Environmental Consultants would contact Ground Force Environmental in regards to property claims that involved an environmental spill (typically the release of a residential oil tank) and required the services of an Environmental Remediation Contractor to take on the project and return the property to pre-spill conditions. Through these experiences, it became evident that the insurance industry needed an environmental remediation contractor with integrity and expertise who would look out for both the insurance adjusters and property-owner's best interests and be available 24/7. Ground Force gathered the crew, equipment and supplies and combined those with the remediation expertise that was already in-house and is proud to offer this 24 hour service to Insurance Adjusters and Environmental Consultants alike.
Using the MyCelx line of Oil Spill Products, Ground Force is able to quickly contain and remove all free product and then focus on the remediation efforts of removing any additional contaminants in the soil or groundwater. MyCelx Oil Spill Products incorporate a unique, patented polymer that is capable of instantly and permanently removing fuel, oil and even sheen in water. The polymer binds together and coagulates the hydrocarbons, specifically altering oils and water soluble organics into a water repellent mass. MyCelx Spill Products prevent weathering and separation of pollutants on contact, and can be re-used until they are fully saturated.
Our advantage comes from our diverse backgrounds, experiences and technical skills, as well as our strong relationships with both Consultants and Property Owners. This allows us to tackle a variety of site remediation projects - both in-situ and ex-situ, groundwater and soil - throughout Ontario. With this diversified experience, comes the knowledge that every environmental remediation project is different and therefore the solution must be tailored to meet the individual site's needs.
Ground Force Environmental is a fully bondable, insured and TSSA certified full-service environmental remediation contractor specializing in innovative and cost-effective soil and groundwater remediation techniques to clean up spills, contaminated sites and to reclaim Brownfield properties.
