The event will take place at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center, located at 4700 Emperor Blvd. in Durham, on Thursday, Aug. 2 at 8 a.m.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Kickoff Breakfast is the official launch for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk taking place on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. at North Hills Mall. At the breakfast, attendees will hear breast cancer updates from the community's medical leaders, speak with individuals who have been affected by breast cancer and learn more about joining the fight against breast cancer.
