SEATTLE, WA, October 04, 2010 (Press-News.org) Jack was the perfect father, the perfect husband, had the perfect suburban life. All was good until one fateful day when he escorted his children to the curb to greet the ice cream man. The driver looked at Jack and offered forth a glistening, green Alien Pop, "On the house". Jack never could've anticipated the nightly horrors that awaited him, all from accepting that one tasty treat. This October, prepare to experience horror on a whole new level as Haunted Night presents the Haunted Nightmare Haunted House in Bothell (Canyon Park) benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County.
3-D glasses provided as you enter the haunt bring your nightmare to life with the help of brilliant fluorescent paints and "ultraviolent" black lights. Once inside, there's no turning back as your senses are engulfed in visions of nightmarish horror. "Wake up! Wake up!," you tell yourself, but your only escape is to survive to the end of the haunt. Visitors to 2009's "Clown Cemetery" will recognize the 3D haunt experience, but that's where the similarities end. Evil clowns have been replaced with a multitude of horrors that tap into far more fears and offer an entirely new experience.
The nightmare begins in mid-October with shows on the 15th and 16th, 21st through 23rd, and 27th through Halloween. Eyes start getting heavy at 7pm with the final nightmare at 11pm. General admission tickets are $10 or guests can skip the line with a $15 R.I.P. Pass. With regards to the age recommendation, haunt co-owner Jody Bossert advises, "Some of the scares can be fairly intense so I'd recommend parents accompany children under 10. That said, the blacklight effect with 3D glasses is definitely something for people of all ages to experience. Last year we had everyone from 10 year old girls to 50 year old men meander their way through the haunt, ogling at the 3-D effect, yet cautiously anticipating the next scare. Both young and old would emerge from the haunt breathless from the horror, yet overcome in laughter reminiscing the scares that attacked the various members of their group."
Haunted Night is partnered with Jump Planet, a children's bouncy house, where the haunt is constructed and remains year around in an unused section of the warehouse. Jump Planet and the Haunted Nightmare Haunted House are located just off the Bothell-Everett Highway near I-405 at 22310 20th Ave SE, Suite 200 Bothell, WA 98021.
The weekend of the 8th and 9th includes special shows for members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County. On the 8th, two sessions from 7pm-8pm and 8pm-9pm include an hour of bouncy house time and then trick-or-treating through a "low-scare" version of the haunt for $10 each or $25 per family. For older kids the haunt goes "full scare, no bouncing" from 9pm-11pm for $5 each or $15 per family. On the 9th, the haunt goes "low-scare with trick-or-treating, no bouncing" from 8pm-9pm and "full-scare, no bouncing" from 9pm-11pm for $5 each or $15 per family. In addition, on Halloween day Jump Planet opens their doors to the general public with multiple bouncy house sessions, face painting, and trick-or-treating through the "low-scare" haunted house. Visit http://www.jumpplanet.com for session times.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at http://www.hauntednightmare.com (guests planning to attend the bouncy house sessions on the 8th are encouraged to purchase their tickets online as space is limited.)
In addition, Haunted Nightmare Haunted House is a proud member of the first-ever VIP Fright Pass coalition of haunted houses. This year, Haunted Night has stepped up to sponsor a pass that organizes various haunted houses from around the area to sell a $10 pass that gets the purchaser into participating haunted attractions at a discounted rate. This is a first for professional haunters in the Seattle area and will hopefully drive an increase in haunted house attendance - an entertainment option during the month of October that is already incredibly popular in other parts of the country. To learn more about the participating haunted attractions, visit http://www.vipfrightpass.com.
Haunted Night supports the Halloween and haunted house industry in the Pacific Northwest through their online community and haunted house directory at http://www.HauntedNight.com and by organizing haunted houses to co-promote by offering discounts through sales of a VIP Fright Pass at http://www.VIPFrightPass.com. Haunted Night also operates their own haunted attraction, the Haunted Nightmare Haunted House, started in 2009. Tickets and information can be found at http://www.hauntednightmare.com.
