Alien Workshop Debuts Skateboards for the Apocalypse

Alien Workshop announces the 2012 Apocalypse Series, a new Kill Trend Continuum project with Real Art. The limited edition series of decks was inspired by apocalypse theories surrounding the end of the Mayan Calendar in 2012. Each of the three decks illustrates a possible deadly scenario: alien invasion, nuclear fallout, and natural disaster. The series will be released in 50 "Skate Recolonization Kits" that house all three designs in custom branded apocalypse-proof steel cases. Inside the cases, owners will find instruction booklets entitled, "2012, So You're an Apocalypse Survivor."

"Alien Workshop is known for pushing great design in their industry," noted Chris Wire, Real Art's president and creative director, "so we were honored to collaborate with them to design the boards and create the story behind them."

To celebrate the launch of the boards, Alien Workshop and Real Art are announcing an unconventional contest: Five of the Skate Recolonization Kits have been buried in secret locations around the world, and the first person to find each kit will be able to keep it. Alien Workshop will reveal clues to the location of each buried kit on their website, alienworkshop.com.
