INDIANAPOLIS, IN, October 04, 2010
Painted Axe is pleased to announce it has completed and delivered the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival commission."We are very happy with our first customization of a resonator (metal) guitar. The winner of the festival raffle will truly have a prize and a one-of-a-kind design," said Michael Gauf, of Painted Axe. The 25th Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival is Oct. 7-9, 2010 in Helena, Ark.
"As with many of our commissioned works, we try to incorporate a bit of history and nostalgia. For the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival, we used a piece of sheet music from 1921, called "Arkansas Blues: A Down-Home Chant", as inspiration," said Gauf. "The music was written by Spencer Williams, a native of New Orleans and member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame."
"We can't wait to get to Helena and see for first hand one of the nation's foremost showcases of blues music," continued Gauf.
